Ralph Waldo Emerson said: “Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.”
So many of us are busy working and raising families, often caught in a duel of priorities. Which kid's homework needs more of your attention? Who will drive whom to soccer practice, violin, and dance lessons? Is Mom's career more important than Dad's?
We each are running on a hamster wheel, doing our best to get through each day. Before you know it, you've been on the hamster wheel for ten years. Suddenly, some external event forces you to reflect on whether you stayed true to your values and purpose.
Take just a few seconds every day to revisit your mission in life. Do it while you're driving to work, or washing the dishes, or making your bed. Allow yourself the mental space to tell the Universe what you want each day. Write it down from time to time. And then watch the magic happen.
Today the closet writer in me takes a big step into the public. I'm putting the finishing touches on two of three manuscripts, and learning about launching a writing career. It may not pay the bills, but it does fulfill a secret mission in life: to heal the world through the pen. I'm blogging this out to let the magic happen.
“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
